Invading The Yegge's 2012...

Once again, while traveling to California, we invaded Annette and her family.  This visit was a little different since Annette had just moved into her new home.  Her old home was fun to visit but her new home was definitely more accommodating for our size family.  Yes, she is a brave friend by letting all 8 of us stay with her while visiting.  Annette is probably the closest friend I have.  She and I have pretty much the same opinions on everything and anything.  Parenting, politics, religious beliefs, ect.!  Our kids are all the same age except she doesn't have an Ava or a Maia.  (so yes she has 4 kids)  The kids play incredibly well together.  It makes for great visiting!  It's always fun to think about how and when we first met and how we both only had 2 kids with no immediate plans to have any more.  Now 6 kids later (2 for her and 4 for me), we have a total of 10 kids!  It's amazing how fast 2 1/2 days goes by when you're in great company!  We are hoping to make another trip back out to Cali in November.  If we do, we hope to invade their house a second time in one year!!  Thank you Yegge's for having us... all 8 of us!

Disneyland 2012

Another trip to Disneyland!  This year Marc's parents came with us.  This was the first vacation where they spent the entire time with us. 6 kids sounds like a lot.  6 kids is a lot.  They knew that before we even left but this vacation would remind them that 6 kids is A LOT!
The drive out the kids bounced between the two vehicles when we would stop for gas.  All I'll say is, that the fun began the moment we were on the road! We booked 2 rooms which were adjoining so that we wouldn't all be squished in one room.  The younger 3 kids were in our room while the older 3 slept in Papa and Grandma's room.  It worked out nicely minus Dillon's coughing spells in the middle of the night. The poor boy has bad allergy issues already and he's only 8!
The first day we met up with Marc's cousin Carlos, his wife, and two little boys.  It was a fun filled but LONG day.  We enjoyed a group dinner at Goofy's Kitchen and stayed until the park closed at 9pm!  The second day we jumped between Disneyland and California Adventure trying to meet up with Carlos and his family again but kept missing them.  Rosalia shocked us with her desire to ride on the rides after having several meltdowns the day before.  She wasn't scared of the characters so that was good at least! The third day we made it onto the main ride in Cars Land (which had just opened up in June of this year).  The line to ride the attraction was always no less than 2 hours wait.  The line for the fast pass was no less than an hour long wait.  We got lucky, snatched fast pass tickets in under 5 minutes, stood in line for 10 minutes and enjoyed the ride!  The older 2 kids rode it twice since we swapped adult passes with Grandma and Papa.  The only negative I have about that ride is that Garrison was not tall enough to ride it.  Little boys LOVE cars.  To make a main attraction ride that little boys can't ride on until they are over 42 inches tall (usually when they are 4-5 yrs of age) is just cruel!  Lucky for Garrison he was content with all the other rides in Cars Land.  The kids were very sad to say good bye to Disney but were excited to drive up and visit our friend's the Yegge's to end out our California vacation.
Enjoy some of the many pictures we took...

5 Months Old...

I don't know how much Maia weighs or even her height since she doesn't go to the doctor until next month but I do know she is hitting milestones way too early.  She has been army crawling since 4 months but is now full blown hands and knees crawling.  She is pulling herself to stand but quickly falling over.  It makes us very nervous since she still has no body control so when she falls she almost always falls head first.  She smiles and giggles at everyone.  She requires lots of attention and snuggling.  I've never had such a "needy" baby but since she is our last I will gladly snuggle her all she wants.  She still has blue eyes.  Dillon had blue eyes until he was 8 months old and then they turned green, so it will be interesting to see if they stay blue.  There is a chance they will stay blue as blue eyes runs on Marc's dad's side of the family.

Outgrowing Things...

I think it's time to donate the baby swing.  Yes she is buckled in, she just squirms so much that she can manipulate the seat and lay side ways almost hanging out of it as it swings.

Sleeping In The Jumper...

Not sure what it is about this toy but she is always falling asleep in it!

Our Little Crawler...

Just 2 days shy of being 5 months old... here is our little crawler/sitter!  She needs to slow down!
