Pool Time At Papa's

Goggles and all, Maia is ready for some pool time!
Rosalia trying to get daddy!
Daddy squirting people with Maia.
Water play on the step will keep her content for hours!
Don't squirt Maia or else...
Ready for lunch!

Small Projects Slowly Getting Finished...

There are 3 square little windows in the older girls room.  These 3 tiny windows cause quite a bit of heat to enter their room from noon till sunset.  With the temperatures raising quickly, I decided to spend a couple hours making their blackout curtains for these tiny windows.  This is only 1 of the many small projects around the house I want to finish!

New Dressers For The Boys...

Papa Simpson can finally be happy.  He completed the last set of dressers for all six grand kids!  They look amazing like all the others.  These two dressers were made with flush drawers which a slightly different style than the girls dressers.  These were also a stain finish as opposed to the white painted dressers the girls have.  The stain used matches the bunk bed Marc made the boy a few months ago.  Now their room can feel complete!  Now to convince the older boy child to clear some of "stuff" off the top!  I swear some days I feel as though I'm raising hoarders!

My New Garden In Time For Mother's Day...

Marc had lots of helpers as they prepared an area in the backyard for my new garden.  Hopefully the manure rich soil in our area helps grow some good vegetables and herbs!

Happy Mother's Day 2014...

Marc went out of his way to make me the most delicious "diet friendly" meals.  Breakfast was asparagus eggs benedict.  Lunch was by far my favorite Clams over zucchini noodles.  Dinner was a tasty Curry Lemon Chicken and Dessert included strawberry cream puffs and a chocolate brownie.  The kids and Marc made me books that they decorated and wrote sweet messages in.  Another Mother's Day came and went.  They were successful in making me feel appreciated and loved once again.

She Wants Underwear Too...

This morning, we found Maia with 3 pairs of Rosalia's underwear on over her pj's.  She's not ready yet but we have a feeling it won't be long before she's potty trained!

Poser...

While at a Doctor's appointment, Rosalia hopped on the bed and asked us to take her picture while she posed.  It was hard not to laugh and of course snap a picture of two!

She's Serious...

I recently had to continuously scold Maia for unbuckling her car seat.  Today I scolded her and look at the arms crossed and face she's giving me in return!  Can we say sassy?!

5 Down Only 1 To Go...

The day started like any other Sunday until Rosalia peed so much her diaper was hanging off her.  I was busy with laundry and Marc decided he would change her.  Upset that the largest size diaper no longer fits on her buns, Marc demanded Rosalia start wearing underwear and go on the potty.  Something I have been saying to her for months.  Shockingly, she ran upstairs to her dresser, grabbed Frozen underwear (which I bought her 3 months ago as incentive to potty train), puts them on and says "Daddy I won't pee in my underwears."
I warned Marc... My exact words were "I have been through this with her, she is all excited and has an accident within minutes of putting them on.  If she has an accident you are changing her."
About 30 minutes later, Marc comes into the kitchen and says "quick come here you have to see this"
Now at this very moment I am thinking awesome I get to go see her on the toilet and get excited over yet another child voiding on the porcelain throne!
NOPE, WRONG... I walk into the bathroom to see the biggest poop stuck inside Rosalia's underwear and pee dripping everywhere.
Marc starts saying "I need your help I can't get it off her without getting poop everywhere."
I didn't even reply.  I gave him THE LOOK!
I help get the poopy clothing off Rosalia, toss Marc a diaper, and walk out annoyed because I told him this was what she does because she's not 100% ready.
SIDENOTE:  All 4 older kids trained when they were ready.  Literally waking up 1 morning, insisting they had to wear underwear and use the potty, and were trained from that day forward.
Back to the day's events... At this point, Rosalia is insisting she wear more underwear and that Marc give her 1 more chance.  Marc being the softy he is, lets her put underwear on again.  Shockingly, Rosalia had ZERO accidents the rest of the day.  The next morning she woke up anxious to put her underwear back on (she wore a diaper because we aren't event touching night wetting just yet).  She went the entire day in underwear.  While out running errands she held it.  While at a friends house she decided to go both pee and poo which had me worried she would still have an accident in regards to the poo but nope she did great.

Best Bubble Bath Ever...

State Fair Complete...

For the past several weeks, Dillon has been working very hard on his state fair project.  He did everything himself.  He did a great job drawing every single art piece displayed on his board.  The day of the fair he needed a "costume" to represent his state (Washington), the best costume...an umbrella to represent the large amounts of rain the state receives annually!  He got an A and we arent surprised!
