First Day Of School...
Everyone picked out their outfits the night before. Ava requested a purple dress which I was more than happy to make for her. Liliana picked a pair of bermuda shorts and a cute tank top. Dillon let the girls pick a new shirt from the pile that he was NOT allowed to wear until school began. After the girls picked out a shirt he then picked out a matching pair of shorts.
Backpacks were packed up the night before. Overflowing with school supplies!
Bedtime was at 7pm! Wake-up was at 7am!

Ice Cream In A Bag...

Last week we made vanilla ice cream in a bag at a friend's house. The kids had a BLAST. So this week I thought it might be fun to make chocolate ice cream in a bag.
Chocolate Ice Cream In A Bag
1 gallon size bag
3 cups crushed ice
1/2 cup rock salt
Place ice and rock salt in gallon size bag.
1 sandwich bag
1/2 cup half and half
1 TBS cocoa powder
1 TBS sugar
Place all 3 ingredients in sandwich bag. Place small bag inside large gallon bag. Shake and rub for 10-15 minutes until liquid becomes a soft ice cream consistency!
Wahlah...chocolate ice cream in a bag!

My Cowboy And His Chaps...
Marc had an annual business meeting to attend in Dallas, TX this year. Every year, they theme the meeting for a fun twist. This years theme was cowboys! Fitting since they were meeting in Texas! A week before the meeting Marc came to me with a challenge... find him a costume or make him one using thrift store finds.
What I came up with...
Size 7 women's leather pants turned into men's chaps! A women's elastic belt turned into the straps for buckle area. Interior lining from leather pants made ties for leg area!
A suede orange long sleeve shirt and creme vest. A hat borrowed from Dad. Boots Marc had. A Bandana I picked up at the local craft store for $.50!
Total cost for this costume $12.50!
