Halloween 2015...

   Family Theme... Comic Book Characters
Ironman (well iron girl)
Wolverine
Spider girl
Maia
Thor
Captain America

We spent Halloween with the Zajdzinski family.  We all went to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant before heading towards Downtown Prescott for a different Halloween night out.  Mt Vernon street is well known to all the locals as the "hotspot" for trick or treating.  We didn't actually start on Mt Vernon but did slowly make our way over there.  Victorian homes decked out their homes and passed out a great assortment of candy and goodies to all those passing through.  There was a huge haunted house but sadly we got to it too late.  It was a blast and the kids can't wait to do it all again next year!

The Floor Is More Cozy Than Beds...

These girls and their desire to sleep on the floor instead of in their beds...cracks me up!

All Saint's Day Festival At Church...

St Cecelia, St Michael the Archangel, and St Zita were the saints of choice this year.  Our old parish had a saints parade after the Sunday Mass just before Halloween.  Our new parish does a little something different... they have a mini mass, have the kids (saints) enter and tell Father Dan who they area, and then spend the evening trunk or treating and playing various games.  My kids had so much fun.  It was different than what they were used to but this change was a fun one!

Mortimer's Farm And Pumpkin Patch...

The local farm, Mortimer Farms, offered out homeschool group a great discount.  Knowing Marc wouldn't have time in his busy holiday schedule to go as a family, I decided to attend with the kids and enjoy time with our homeschool group.  We enjoyed a fun tractor ride out to the picking fields, had the choice of any pumpkin we each wanted, and then enjoyed some play time in the main farm area.  Since we had been to this farm just a little while ago for the corn festival, all the play equipment was very familiar and exciting to the kids.  It was a great afternoon and we sure got our bargains worth of pumpkins.

Rosalia Turns 5...

Rosalia was celebrated not once but twice.  Her actual birthday we spoiled her and then the following weekend, Grandma and Papa came up for the day.  Lots and lots of craft related gifts made her smile from ear to ear.  It's crazy how fast she continue to grow... literally.  She just passed her OLDER brother in height and weight!  She is beginning to read.  She picks out her own clothes.  She loves helping her siblings complete things.  (She more likes to show off that she can do it despite her being younger than they are!)

Yavapai County Fair...

A couple weeks ago, I was at a local pet store and was offered discounted tickets to the fair.  Knowing we planned to go, also knowing it's never cheap taking this large crew anywhere...I bought some!
Fast forward to today, it was semi sunny, then within minutes cloudy, overcast, and pouring.  Grandma and Papa came up to go to the fair with us and as they made their way up the hill they informed us it was solid rain.  We were very upset as it was looking like we weren't going to make it to the fair.  An hour passed and the sun began to come out.  We loaded up and headed toward the fairgrounds.  It's amazing how as you drive on the 89 from Prescott Valley into Prescott, the sky is so different depending on which way you look!  When we arrived at the fair grounds it was still overcast but no rain. We quickly rode as many rides as possible in case the rain decided it was time to pour again!  The sun peeked it's head out of the clouds on occasion and we were able to enjoy the fair for several hours.  The fair rides really entertained the kids.  The rides that went in a circular motion squeaked and went faster than any fair ride I'd ever been on!  The little kid rides were far too overpriced but isn't that a fairs job ...be overpriced?!!!
Before heading out and calling it a day we had to enjoy some carnival food.  The kids wanted some nachos, pretzels, pink lemonade, and French fries.  The French fries came in 2 sizes, small and large.  We saw large plates full of fries and assumed they were the large...NOPE we were wrong.  A large is an entire fryer basket of fries in the shape of a brick!  Luckily, everyone was pretty hungry and not many fries went to waste!
