Happy 6th Birthday To Garrison...

With all the treats and goodies from Christmas, I thought a donut cake would be something different and unexpected for Garrison's 6th birthday.  Papa and Grandma came up to have our round 2 of Christmas which just happen to overlap on Garrison's birthday.  So we obviously celebrated Garrison's birthday as well!  He is so mellow and unbothered by his birthday being so close to Christmas (which is great because it always worries me that he will feel gipped) Garrison is so kind and caring.  He enjoys school most days.  Other days, it's a bit of a challenge to get him up and going on a school day.  He had his 6 year well check and he is a little low on the weight percentile chart.  It's not a huge shocker because he's always been on the lower side of the chart with his weight.  Other than that, he is growing and progressing just fine.  He loves being read to.  He loves video games.  He loves doing anything rough tough and boyish.  He is begging to go fishing so hopefully the weather warms up soon so he can go!

The next day, it was Garrison's actual birthday.  We let him pick out a cake of his choice and ordered pizza for dinner (one of his favorite foods)!

Then a 3rd celebration occurred with a combination party for Ava and Garrison with the extended family.  This final party, Garrison had a lego shaped cake and a few more presents to open.

Thumb Butte Family Hike...

It was a little chilly, but that didn't stop us from taking a short 1/2 mile hike with all 6 kids up Thumb Butte.  We are all very excited to live so close to such beautiful places to enjoy the outdoors.  Spring and Summer can't come soon enough!

Say Cheese Mocha...

I think she likes her sweater!

Christmas Round 2 With Papa and Grandma...

Grandma had to work on Christmas, so Papa and Grandma waited until the weekend to bring Christmas to the grandkids.  The excitement had been building since the kids had seen their piles of presents at their house weeks earlier.  They finally got to dig in and it didn't take them long to make a huge mess and make the noise level go that much louder.  Needless to say, they had a wonderful Christmas despite all the changes that happen in less than a year.
