Maia, has mastered eating an entire ice cream cone. Papa Simpson can proudly take credit for teaching her. The Simpson's are definitely ice cream eating pros! Maia fits right in!

Our Picky Eater Has Spoken...
After being told he must eat the variety of foods I prepared for dinner, he put up a stink and was told no dessert. He stormed up to his room (I didn't even send him there!) and put this sign outside his door! I was laughing so hard! The whole picky eating thing fascinates me since he swears he doesn't like xxx one day but another day he eats it up without even realizing the time before he refused to eat it. I wonder if he will one day be a chef or a traveling food network star eating odd meals on a show like bizarre foods?!

Waterslide Fun...
If you remember, we owned a similar waterslide a few years ago. I decided on getting another one, since the little kids still can't fully swim and a pool was the only other option. This was by far the smartest choice again! It provides hours of safe water play for all 6 kids!

Mmm Cinnamon Rolls...
This was a fairly easy recipe I found on allrecipes.com. I was very happy when I saw these can sit overnight in the fridge and then baked in the morning. Overnight recipes are becoming some of my favorite recipes to make lately.
Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients:
2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45
degrees C)
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
|
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
|
Directions:
| 1. | In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes. In a small saucepan, heat the buttermilk until warm to the touch. |
| 2. | Pour the buttermilk and oil into the yeast mixture; mix well. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda. Stir the flour mixture into the liquid 1 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 20 times. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes. In a small bowl, stir together the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. |
| 3. | On a lightly floured surface, roll dough out into a large rectangle. Spread the brown sugar and butter mixture over the dough, roll up into a log and pinch the seam to seal. Slice into 1 inch pieces and place cut side up in a lightly greased 10x15 baking pan. Cover and let rise 30 minutes or cover and refrigerate overnight. If baking immediately, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). |
| 4. | Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes before serving |

Back To The Sewing Machine...
More baprons and 4th of July dresses for the girls! I haven't sewn anything in awhile but breezed through these small projects in a decent amount of time.

She Tried...
While getting everyone ready for bed, Rosalia snuck onto my bathroom countertop, grabbed 3 nail polish bottles, and attempted her own manicure! I'll admit she didn't do too bad but I'd prefer if she would let me do the painting till she gets a bit older!

Dillon's Lego Shelf...
Yay. Papa finished Dillon's Lego shelf. It's perfect. The talent and ability to build unbelievably strong pieces of furniture is something I am so grateful for.
