Swimming At Aunt Jeneen's...

Garrison and I are leaving for Colorado tomorrow, so we decided to head down to Papa's house (where the rest of the kids would stay while we were away) and on our way down we made a pit stop at Aunt Jeneen's to visit with Great Grandma and swim in their pool.  Garrison recently learned to swim without floats so he was showing off his newly learned skills.  It was a great afternoon.

Bye Bye Ugly Archways...

In an attempt to create better airflow, these ugly archways had to come down.  What a bonus, since I wanted these down anyway!

Experiencing Prescott With Friends...

Sarena and her two kids came up for the day to visit.  There just happen to be an event going on in downtown Prescott so exploring we went.  The kids had fun despite not wanting to sit and watch the fake gun shoot out.

Basil Gelato...

With basil growing faster than fast, we made some basil gelato.  The little girls LOVED the basil gelato we had in Flagstaff back a few months ago, so they were very excited to try and recreate it!  They LOVED this recipe.  We will be making this again very soon.

Movie In The Square...

During the summer months, Prescott offers a FREE movie in the square showing.  Tonight's movie was Big Hero 6.  Marie and her crew joined us and the kids had a blast.  The weather was perfect and it wasn't too overly crowded.

Easy Bake Cool Oven With The Princesses...

They spotted the oven in the storage room and begged me for days.  I finally had some free time to take it out.  The fun these two had.

Strep Throat For Mom...

I'm not sure where I picked up strep throat from but it sure knocked me down.  Marc was awesome and brought me home lots of liquid goodies.  Then the following morning once the medication started kicking in, he made me a tasty breakfast.  I hadn't eaten in a couple days so this was very needed.

Water Leak In Basement...

This particular damage breaks my heart because before we moved in, we had a drywall guy retexture the entire basement.  In other words, this drywall job isn't even 8 months old yet!  I ended up cutting out all the wet to find that the wood beams were rotted and we needed to do some major work before this would be fixed back as new.

AFHE Homeschool Convention...

The annual AFHE Homeschool Convention.  I wanted to go being new to the homeschooling thing.  I wanted Marc to go because at the time I didn't know anyone and I wanted support.  Fast forward to the actual convention, I had many friends going with no husbands.  Marc was a bored wreck.  He's mister know it all when it comes to guest speakers.  So let's just say not every moment was spent with me smiling.  I was thankful to go, thankful for all the info I walked away from, and thankful for this awesome board game I know my family will enjoy for years and years.  I learned, next year, I will go with my friends and leave grumpy pants home!

Overnight Kid FREE Trip Away...

The AFHE convention was a 2 day event.  It wasn't close enough to justify the drive back and forth.  Rather than drive into Phoenix every day from Marc's parent's house, they kept the kids and we spent the night in the beautiful Fountain Hills at the Inn At Eagle Mountain.  We had a nice hotel package which gave us champagne and a few other extras.  It was such a nice relaxing night to help focus on the convention and all we wanted to take away from it.

Mocha Likes To Sit Like The Kids...

On our way down to the valley today for the homeschool convention, Mocha decided she was going to sit in Ava's booster seat!  Silly dog!  We hope she'll be a good guest at Aunt Jeneen's house for the night.

Garden Galore With Some Plums To Go With...

The plums came from a sweet neighbor down the road.  Her daughter had far too many and they needed to give some away.  Knowing I had just handled my fair share of apricots, they decided I was the right person.  I made lots of plum goodies.  My favorite is pictured above...Plum coffee cake
Meanwhile, the garden is in full swing.  The garden is giving us lots of carrots, squash, and potatoes!!
