Hiking field trip with Ava. It was nothing fancy. But it was still quality time spent with Ava and a couple friends I chaperoned!

Another "Play"...
I won't spend much time bashing the music teacher for his awesome "plays" but instead will just say "it was so entertaining" (in a sarcastic voice rolling my eyes). This awesome piece of work was about an authors purpose. Yup because 2nd graders find it fun to sing about authors and their purpose. I wonder how many students this music teacher is turning away from music these days?! If my music teacher made me sing about this stuff I would have never wanted to go to music class...ever! Poor kids!

Stitches So Young...
Like the pediatrician instructed, we lock Maia in her bedroom at night for her own safety. Sadly, she found danger in her room by climbing on the open dresser drawers tonight. The injury looks worse than it was. Foreheads bleed A LOT! After noticing Maia was crying for too long of a time, I went in to check on her and found her covered in blood. Once we cleaned her off, we realized she had a straight small slit in her forehead that was pretty deep. Marc and I decided I should take her in and get it looked at. We weren't quite sure if it would need stitches but better safe than sorry. I first attempted the urgent care right around the corner from our house... they were closed. Next I went to the pediatric urgent care, the doctor on duty wasn't confident in his ability to stitch Maia (it was at that point they were certain she would need stitches) very well given her age and upset state she was in. I was sent to the main children's hospital in the neighboring town. There a plastic surgeon stitched Maia up and sent us on our way... only after being hassled for over 3 hours! Doing their job, they had to make sure Maia injured herself on her own and we didn't harm her. Poor kid just wanted her bed and some sleep! At least when they put her in the papoose she fell asleep for a short 10 minutes.
