It's Almost Signing Time...

This morning we left really early for our 2 hour drive up to Prescott.  Today, we left as a family relocating to Prescott enjoying the pretty sunrise.  This afternoon we became home owners again.  Arizona spoils a girl!  Majority of homes in the East Valley are new, updated, and move in ready with minor things someone has hopes of doing to personalize it.  Northern Arizona is more like back east.  Old, outdated homes that are in desperate need of fixing and updating.  We have owned 4 homes in the past.  Our first home was a brand new home we built 1 year after having Liliana.  Our second home was a cute little ranch home in California, where I had walls upon walls of wallpaper to  take down and a few rooms that needed new flooring.  The third house was in New York.  That house required a little kitchen updating ( new countertops), a new railing (it had the ugliest metal railing), carpet removal in master to show off the beautiful hard wood floors, removal of some ugly wallpaper borders, painting of panelling in the basement area, and gutting the main floor bathroom.  The 4th home was in Arizona when we moved back in 2007.  It was move in ready but we knew we would make it more homey for our family.  Projects included ripping out a set of cabinets and creating a huge walk in pantry, making a "mudroom" area in the laundry room where the pantry used to be, putting wood floors throughout the downstairs, converting the office area into a movie room, and updating light fixtures as well as the downstairs bathroom vanity.
4324 N Sheridan Ln Prescott Valley is our 5th home we've own over the years.  I have posted some separate postings on all the fun ahead of us as far as renovations are concerned.  It's more work than all the other homes combined but we are up for the challenge.

Fire Station Tour...

I have been to over a dozen fire station tours but the kids never get sick of them.  The firemen always do such a great job keeping the kids interested and entertained during the tours.  Garrison had fun but for some reason he wouldn't smile for a picture.  Just like his brother!

She's Ready For The Cold Weather...

She keeps pulling out the winter coats and putting them on.  This jacket is about 4 sizes too big but she sure looks cute.

Good Bye Shelf...

Marc's dad built a gorgeous hutch for his home back in 2005.  In 2007, when we moved back to AZ he was getting rid of it.  I asked if we could have it (I offered to pay him but he didn't want money he just wanted rid of it).  I did not like the bright orange colored stain he had on it so I painted it a charcoal grayish black.  We had it in our eat in kitchen in our 4th home but when we sold that house and moved into our rental the eat in kitchen couldn't accommodate it.  Not wanting to get rid of such an well built piece of furniture, it became out tv entertainment unit in our loft.  The only negative was the shelf in the middle of the top piece.  The biggest tv we could fit was a 32" tv.  I asked Marc's dad to attempt to remove or cut down the shelf.  It took him a little while but he managed to remember how to deconstruct it enough to remove the shelf.  It loves awesome and now we can fit a bigger tv in it.
