Flower For Cheering Up...

Today, I went to the hand specialist to find out the results of my finger MRI. Since I haven't posted about my finger, I'll give the short version...
8 weeks ago I brushed my hand against a bougainvillea bush by accident. Somehow the thorn caused some damage to my ring finger on my left hand. My pinky was also cut but for some strange reason the damage was done on the ring finger even though the cut wasn't nearly as bad as the pinky finger. After several trips to family Dr, X-ray clinic and specialist I was ordered to do a fancy MRI on the finger.
Results of my MRI:
I need "emergency surgery" to open my finger, remove joint tissue which is infected with thorn bacteria, and will possibly need 1-2 more surgeries depending on amount of joint tissue infected and needing removal. Worse case scenario I will need amputation of the finger.

Yes this was a lot to process. Knowing there is going to be a decent amount of time for healing and limited use of my finger and hand, I will have to accept many things will need to be done by others. This isn't an easy thing for me. I always appreciate help but its not often I find myself in need of it.
With all this weighing heavy in my mind, Marc came home with flowers to "cheer me up"! He's a keeper! Not because he brought flowers but because he wanted to show he cares!

Helping The Community...

The MOMS Club held a lemonade stand this weekend. Dillon had a baseball game so the older two girls were the only kids that participated (the little ones didn't come because we were on a busy street curb). The proceeds would be used to buy materials for the Sterling House (a local nursing home). We will be visiting the residents and bringing them flower pots. Every year we have to do at least 1 service project, this year we will complete several! I love teaching the kids about doing good for others!

Dentist Cleanings...

Today was a very successful day, both Garrison and Rosalia cooperated for X-rays and cleanings! This is a big deal since just 6 months ago I had to drag them into the office and hold them down!

Story Time And Picnic...

My friend Maureen hosted a story time and picnic event a her house today. The kids had a blast and she did such a cute job pairing her book about ants at a picnic and the kids having a picnic outside. Rosalia and Garrison loved eating their lunch with their friends outside on the blanket!
